PeMSAA-UK Charity Walk and Summer Gala
26th July 2025
This year’s PeMSAA Walk was once again held in the breathtaking Peak District, marking the second consecutive year we returned to this beautiful location. The event brought together around 60 enthusiastic participants, who enjoyed a day filled with camaraderie, laughter, and the joy of walking amidst stunning natural scenery.
The celebrations continued into the evening with a vibrant gala event, which proved to be a resounding success. Guests were treated to a delightful spread of authentic Sri Lankan cuisine, lively games, and wonderful music that kept spirits high throughout the night.
Most importantly, thanks to the generosity and support of everyone who attended, we were able to raise an incredible £2,000 in aid of improving medical education in Sri Lanka. This achievement not only reflects the strength of our community but also the positive impact we can create together.
Supporting the Medical Student Elective Programme
20th July 2025
Elective Program organised by the Faculty of Medicine, University of Peradeniya continues to grow in popularity and has become a valuable asset to our faculty. We are delighted that an increasing number of UK medical students are choosing the University of Peradeniya and the Faculty of Medicine for their electives.
This success is largely due to the efforts of Dr. Uditha Jayatunge, former PeMSAA Secretary, whose initiative significantly raised awareness of our program among medical faculties in the UK.
Student feedback has been outstanding, reflecting the quality of the learning experience the Faculty & the Teaching staff provide. The faculty also receives a financial contribution of €100 per week from each participating student.
